Dr. Rebecca Aicher is a project director at the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s Center for Scientific Evidence in Public Issues (AAAS EPI Center). Dr. Aicher leads the environment and energy topic areas for the EPI Center including work on PFAS, green infrastructure, and properly addressing orphan and improperly abandoned oil and gas wells. Before joining the AAAS EPI Center, she worked on policy-relevant scientific research including invasive species management, ecosystem restoration, climate change, and sustainable water resource management at the Northeast Midwest Institute, U.S. Global Change Research Program and U.S. EPA, among others. Dr. Aicher received her Ph.D. in biology at the University of California Irvine and bachelor’s degree in biology from the George Washington University.
