Ron Green currently works as an independent consultant in groundwater hydrology. He recently retired from Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio Texas in 2020 were he spent 30 years investigating water resources with emphasis on arid and semi-arid environments including the Edwards, Trinty, Edwards-Trinity, and Carrizo-Wilcox aquifers in central and west Texas. He recently co-edited a memoir titled “The Edwards Aquifer: The Past, Present, and Future of a Vital Water Resource” and co-authored an ebook titled “Edwards Aquifer”. His academic background includes undergaduate degrees in engineering (University of Michigan) and geology (Grand Valley State University), a MS in geophyics (University of Utah), and a Ph.D. in hydrology (University of Arizona). His appreciation for hydrology and water resources dates to his time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon Africa in the early 1970s where he worked on a rural water-resource project. He is a registered geoscientist in Texas and a Fellow of the Geological Society of America.
