                                                    Chad Carbone is the State Division Chief in the Orphaned Wells Program Office at the United States Department of the Interior. In this capacity, he helps administer and oversee a $4.677 billion program funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The program partners with states, tribes and other
federal agencies to plug, remediate and reclaim orphaned wells and associated lands and infrastructure. Prior to his current role, Mr. Carbone held various leadership positions at the United States Environmental Protection Agency where he worked on air, water, hazardous waste and enforcement and compliance issues, and oversaw implementation of the EPA’s national inspector program and national compliance assistance centers. Chad received a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Studies from the University of Massachusetts, and a Juris Doctor and Master of Studies in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School.
