Marie-Christine (MC) Bouchard has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector. She started her career as an environmental advisor at Strathcona Refinery in Edmonton. She has held leadership roles at Imperial Oil in Canada and ExxonMobil in the United States. Her responsibilities have included operations, maintenance and engineering and health, safety, environmental management, remediation and reclamation.
Since leaving the oil industry, she has applied her knowledge and experience to advancing sustainability. She served as assistant deputy minister, Environmental Social Governance (ESG), with the Government of Alberta from 2022 to 2023 and enjoyed the opportunity to learn about policy development and decision-making at the provincial level.
MC received a Bachelor of Engineering in fuels and materials engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada and a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Alberta. She served her country as an aircraft maintenance officer in the Canadian Armed Forces at the beginning of her career.
MC values continuous learning and in the past few years has obtained certificates in Sustainable Investing and Sustainability and Climate Risk Management.
She has three adult children living in Edmonton, Calgary and St. John's, Newfoundland. She enjoys all types of health and fitness activities including skiing, snowboarding, running, Orangetheory Fitness, and hot yoga. She lives and works in Calgary.
