Clement Lau is a certified planner with over 25 years of experience in urban and regional planning. Clement is currently a Policy Advisor with the Los Angeles County Chief Sustainability Office where he works on a variety of policy issues, ranging from urban greening/community forestry to just transition. Previously, he was a planner with L.A. County’s Department of Parks and Recreation where he led the development of data-driven and equity-focused park plans and needs assessments. Clement enjoys writing and has published articles on Planetizen, the Planning magazine and the National Recreation and Park Association’s Parks and Recreation magazine and Open Space blog. He holds a doctorate and master’s in urban planning from the University of Southern California, and a bachelor’s in economics from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa.
